Each capsule contains:

  • L-Theanine (L-Theanine, Camellia sinensis – Leaf): 100mg
  • L-5-HTP (5-Hydroxy-L-tryptophan, 5-HTP, Griffonia simplicifolia – Seed): 100mg
  • Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata, Flower): 250mg (10:1 QSE 2500mg)

Non-Medicinal Ingredients:

Hypromellose (capsule shell).

Adults: Take one capsule 30 minutes before you want to sleep. Increase to two capsules if needed.  You can also take one capsule before bedtime and a second capsule if you wake up in the middle of thee night and struggle with falling back to sleep.  as long as you still
have 3 hours or more left to sleep, you should not feel groggy the next day.

Cautions and Contraindications:

Consult a health care practitioner prior to use:

  • If sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 3 weeks (chronic insomnia).
  • If you are taking carbidopa or drugs/supplements with serotonergic activity. These may include, but are not limited to, L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John's wort, antidepressants, pain
    killers, over the counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication.
  • If symptoms persist or worsen.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, or abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle painor if you experience skin changes.
  • Do not use if you have scleroderma.
  • Consumption with alcohol, other medications or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended.

If you experience any of the following symptoms within a few hours after taking this product discontinue use and consult a health practitioner:

  • Changes in mental state such as restlessness or confusion, increased heart rate, enlarged pupils, loss of muscle coordination, sweating, shivering and/or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
  • Some people may experience drowsiness. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle or involved in activities requiring mental alertness.

Sleep—enough of it and of good quality—is crucial for living well. When we don’t sleep well or long enough, we don’t function even close to optimally, and studies are now showing that poor sleep over an extended period can negatively impact our health as we age. Everything—work, relationships, parenting, socializing, yoga class—is so much harder to manage and enjoy without sleep.

So, of course, sleep is good, and not sleeping well is bad—enough said. But what about those nights when you just know you aren’t going to be able to drift off into a gentle slumber? When your brain won’t shut off, and you can tell this is going to be one of those nights where you see the wrong side of 2 AM—and not for any fun reason.

Sleep Like Buddha is a natural health product that helps you relax, fall asleep sooner, and stay asleep longer so you can wake up ready to take on your day. With no diphenhydramine or other potentially harmful chemical ingredients found in prescription or OTC drugs, you can feel comfortable knowing this product is both safe and non-habit forming.

5-HTP (L-5-Hydroxytryptophan) is an amino acid that occurs naturally in the body and is needed to make the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin. Serotonin is important for positive mood balance and restful sleep. Our 5-HTP is plant-sourced from Griffonia simplicifolia, a shrub native to Africa.

Passionflower is a beautiful wildflower found in North and South America. Its aerial, or above-ground, parts have been used in traditional Native American medicine and by colonists as a tonic for anxiety and insomnia. It may help with calming the mind, making it easier to fall asleep.

L-theanine is an amino acid found in green tea. It does not contain caffeine but does promote relaxation by reducing the perception of stress. While not a sedative on its own, L-theanine can be combined with other natural sleep-supporting ingredients to work synergistically, allowing for a more relaxing sleep.

Q: Why is there no melatonin in Sleep Like Buddha?
A: Melatonin is a great supplement, and is something our bodies product naturally in our pineal gland to help regulate our sleep/wake cycle. It’s role in regulating circadian rhythm is why it is so often recommended for jet lag or shift workers. However, melatonin may not help you fall asleep during times of stress, and many people don’t tolerate it well, experiencing morning grogginess, vivid nightmares, headaches. There is also a wide variation on the amount needed for benefit by those that do use it successfully – from as little as 1mg to 10mg. When we created Sleep Like Buddha our objective was to help support better sleep for those experiencing stress-related sleep issues. Our founder Jillian, has struggled with stress-related insomnia on and off for much of her adult life, and the ingredients in Sleep Like Buddha are the ones that have allowed her to return to regular, restful sleep over the years.
Q: How long will this product take to work?
A: That will depend a lot on the individual. Many have had great success on the first night, while for others it has taken a week of taking it every night to experience full benefit. Most people will notice a significant difference after the third night, and then even more benefit with ongoing use. Even if you do not experience a good sleep on night one, we recommend you take it for a full week consecutively before you decide if it is right for you.
Q: When should I take it?
A: Up to 2 capsules daily. In general, 1 capsule 30-60 minutes before you want to go to sleep. You can take a second capsule if you night wake and can’t quiet your mind. Just ensure you still have 3 or more hours left to sleep if taking the second capsule. Or you can take 2 capsules at bedtime, if your issue is more falling asleep. The dosage is quite customizable.
Q: I take prescription sleeping pills, can I take this with them?
A: No.
Q: I am taking a prescription anti-anxiety/depressant. Can I take Sleep Like Buddha?
A: No.
Q: Do I have to continue taking Sleep Like Buddha once I start sleeping better again?
A: That is up to you. Some are able to use it for a month and then are sleeping well on their own. Our bodies are pretty amazing and we can “reset” our sleep to healthy sleep patterns. If you are sleeping well without it, by all means stop taking it. And if your sleep issues come back, because life happens, Sleep Like Buddha will be there for you.
Q: I have terrible insomnia. What else can I do besides take Sleep Like Buddha?
A: Difficulty sleeping at night can also be caused by stress during the day. Better sleep at night leads to better days, and less daytime stress will lead to better sleep at night. A Little Help Was Needed

I tried many things after my last life explosion to get my sleep patterns back to their normal. I had been taking Daytime Zen which has been an amazing help so I ordered Sleep like a Buddha. This was what my body was craving. I fall asleep easily and stay asleep. If I wake up I can easily get back to sleep. As I age I know that Niyama supplement s will help me to navigate this next stage in my life.

I found it is not working for me…I have terrible insomnia and I have been trying 2 capsules a night for 6 days and I am still not able to fall asleep.

Im so sorry to hear this Sherry, not being able to sleep is the worst, and it sounds liek Sleep Like Buddha was not right for you at this time. At this point it would be a good idea to see your healthcare professional - it's dangerous to leave insomnia untreated.

Works with a little help

I take this to sleep, up to three a night with magnesium. It helps me sleep better than without it, but my insomnia is probably worse than most people. I do recommend it though. I will keep taking it, even a little help is appreciated.

My experience with this product is that's it's done nothing for me ~ I'm up to 4 per night~ 2 at bedtime and 2 at around 3pm when I still wake up like normal~ it may well work for others~ I was so hopeful for this product😜😴

Oh Susanne, I'm so very sorry our Sleep Like Buddha didnt help you. it works for 95% of people but sleep challenges are so individual. Please ensure you speak with your healthcare practitioner, as leaving insomnia untreated is never a good thing.
